Days like today

I could give you two dozen reasons why I ought to be annoyed, unhappy, frustrated, depressed and generally giving up.

Some days are like that.

But there is one reason why I can't give in to the bitter feelings that are knocking on the door: I want to be happy and if I don't choose it, it won't happen.

So today we choose to switch into survival mode and breathe deeply and laugh, laugh, laugh at how life can be.

  1. Like when the USA went down 2-0 to a must-beat team this morning. I turned to my friend and said, "It'll start being funny when we're down 4-0 because then we won't even be hoping for a win. Right now, it feels like there is still a slim chance."

Right now, the score stands at Juliana:0 and Life:4. I know I'm not going to "win" this round, so I can just relax and enjoy the ride. Round two will go to me.

  2. And the USA survived the soccer threat!

You are brave and courageous, staring at the face of despair and refusing to give in. It takes a lot of strength.

I'm sorry things are rough right now. Cyber hug.

  3. Good choice! I want to come visit soon, but I am currently swamped.
